Introduction to Department:

• Kayachikitsa is one of the important branches of Ayurveda. This branch deals with various Physical and Psychological disorders.
• This clinical department is imparting Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching and training in theory as well as practical research on various diseases through Ayurvedic principles of treatment in accordance with Syllabus & curriculum prescribed by National Council of Indian System of Medicine. The Department always has aimed and achieved centum results. 
• This subject is mainly concerned with revitalizing Indian Traditional Science, methods of treatment of disorders and to develop protocols of research and management of various disorders based on Ayurvedic principles of management.
• The department encompasses a separate departmental library with more than 150 books related to Ayurveda as well as speciality modern text books.

• Upholding the Authentic principles of Ayurveda in order to propagate health for all and to be a centre of excellence by providing quality education and training to both undergraduate and postgraduate students of Ayurvedic medicine.

Under Graduate level: During the Academic Year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance on treatment in the subject of Kayachikitsa were provided to 4^th BAMS students. Students were taught through bedside clinical as well as demonstration methods which enabled the students to study the problems typically associated with particular disease or disorder. 

• Each and every student was assigned topics for class seminars to understand the depth of the subject and all over personality development.  
• Guest lecture by Dr Santhosh N Belavadi on the topic “Successful Management of Chronic Disorders through Ayurveda- Practical Approach”

Post graduate level:

• During the Academic Year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance were provided to MD Scholars on their research topics with reference to special diseases.
• Various weekly activities with regard to seminars, discussion, journal club, thesis topic discussion, case presentations, clinical methods and departmental examination etc were conducted regularly by the department. 
• PG Scholars have attended and presented papers in various National Seminars, Workshops and bagged prizes.

Shalakya Tantra (ENT/Eye)

Introduction to Department:

The Department of Shalakyatantra offers specialized education in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders affecting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, oro-dental health, head, and scalp. The term Shalakyatantra is derived from “Shalaka” (meaning fine instrument) and “Tantra” (meaning system or science), emphasizing the use of specialized tools to address these conditions. This field combines the rich heritage of ancient Ayurvedic knowledge with modern diagnostic techniques to provide comprehensive treatment and care.

Additionally, the department prioritizes fostering a culture of pediatric research by undertaking student research projects funded by the institute, state and central agencies each year, encouraging academic excellence and innovation.

The Department of Kaumarabhritya envisions establishing itself as a leader in pediatric Ayurveda education and research. By continuously expanding the frontiers of knowledge, we aim to deepen our understanding of childhood illnesses and enhance treatment approaches through Ayurveda. Our ultimate goal is to mentor the next generation of Vaidyas, instilling in them a commitment to societal service while upholding the highest ethical and moral standards of Ayurveda.

They are guided to develop well-structured research proposals and apply for funding from various state and central agencies.

These funded projects form an integral part of undergraduate training, laying a solid foundation for cultivating a research-oriented mindset among students. Upon completing their projects, students are further encouraged to refine their scientific writing skills and publish their findings in indexed journals, thereby contributing to the body of knowledge in the field.

To date, the students have successfully completed six funded Kaumarabhritya research projects resulting in five publications with principal investigator students as first authors. Sixth paper is currently under final revision. This commitment to research not only enhances the academic profile of the department but also empowers students with skills essential for their future endeavors in Ayurveda.

Prasooti Tantra & Stri Roga

Introduction to Department:

The Department of Prasoothi Tantra Evam Stree Roga is providing the best quality Teaching and Training to all students in BAMS Course. Completed theoretical knowledge about the subject matter and its parallel practical application are provided by the college and hospital. Various Research Activities are being carried out by the students providing Ayurvedic care and treatment for gynaecological and obstetric disorders.
